How to become an ISE Instructor Published by Achim Schlöffel on 2009-06-09

Jellyball

A lot of freshly born agencies are more or less willing to give out instrutor cards to gain volume. ISE instead is very strict regarding the Quality of their instructors and the process of building them.

ISE Fonder and President Achim Schloeffel took a great effort in choosing very carefully the core of people that built the baseline and the foundation of ISE. Those who were choosen are the best in their field. Years of Experience not only as divers but also as active explorers and especially as Instructors make them able to help ISE to find the best instructors as well as help the instructor candidate to find a well developed infrastructure for his training.

If someone wants to become an ISE instructor he should contact his Instructor Trainer (IT) of choice or Headquarter. The candidate has to be certified one Level above the desired instructor Level. i.e. if someone wants to teach exploration Level 1, he or she has to be Level 2 certified. The IT will set up an instructor Training Course (ITC). During the ITC, the individual will participate in a "fake class" with role models to learn how to set up, structure and teach the ISE material. After this the original class with real students is conducted together with the IT. Depending on the performance of the candidate he can earn his first signature during this class. Usually the IT will tell the candidate that he or she has to participate in a number of classes with any IT to get more comfortable. After that a Instructor Evaluation (IE) can be scheduled. During this the candidate has to proof his ability to teach the material in a perfect way to represent ISE in the best way. To pass the IE the candidate needs the signature of two independent ITs. After the successful IE the instructor may teach his own classes.

All ISE Instructor's have to renew their status every 3 years by co-teaching a class with at least one IT and one representative from ISE headquarter. AS
