The Missconcept of "Training for the class" Published by Achim Schlöffel on 2010-08-26

after a long and exhausting discussion I had today I feel the strong need to clarify this topic once and forever.

I frequently talk to people interested in participating in ISE Training telling me that they would love to do the class but need more time to train for it. (...)

Here we have a total missinterpretation of the concept. We do not offer "Tests" - we offer "Training" / "Classes". the difference for those who do not see it first hand: in a class You come emptyhanded to get information, training, support and guidiance. during the class You will expirience where You are and where You should (and want to) be. During the class You will learn how to train, what to train and also learn the concepts and procedures that will help You to get there. After the class You are qualified - not for a given level - but to go and train.

Then after some time and training You come back to proof Your earnings and receive the reward - the next step in Your training.

I like to compare this to the process of learing how to drive a car. You do not go to the drivers school to do the test after You trained at home.. You go there to learn how to do it and after the classes and the test you are far from being able to properly drive - but You learnd the basics that allow you to go out and participate in traffic - practice in real life and in the end learn how to really drive. It is the same with dive education.

So - training before taking the class is pure nonsens, that in the end will waste time, energy and money. in the worst case You train someting wrong - and it is always much harder to break thru a wrong habit or procedure instead of learing something new..

I see You in the class

Achim
